TYGA, The Throwbacks & Rapper Steph

Today I made a friend go to a concert for a guy he didn't really feel: Tyga. He's not a really well known rapper, but he does have some connections.

Tyga's Labels:
Decaydance: FOB (Founder: Pete Wentz), Gym Class Heroes, etc.
Young Money: Lil Wayne (founder), Dizzy, etc.
G.E.D Inc.: Website

The opening act was fun. But Tyga brought over his own crew from G.E.D. We watched them open & they were pretty cool too. We left soon after Tyga came out- after a long, drawn out introduction. He did one song, and we concluded he was just full of hot air and left during his second song. I'm not saying that he's arrogant or anything, but that's really the vibe he came out with.

Rapper Steph was awesome though, her songs were politically inspired and something out of the ordinary. The throwbacks were just fun people to to watch, they were dynamic and full of energy. Hey, even though we stuck around for the opening act, we still has some fun.

Rapper Steph:

The Throwbacks:

As for Tyga, well, like I said before, we didn't stick around to see what he offered. But I can say she shows some sort of promise (I think he's a funny kid), we'll see in his next album. I'm not going to post a vid on him cause, well, I dunno which one to put up. Also, he'll probably be more appealing if he rapped about more mature things. But hey, he's only 17.

---Edit.
So my friend went to the concert after I left, and she told me he was really nice and personable....damn. Guess I was wrong about him? Guess I'll never find out.

What would you do for Earth Day?

Yesterday's Daily Dig asked readers to tell them what would they do to celebrate Earth Day. The winner gets 20 pounds of Books! Of course I didn't win but...my answer was mentioned in the email lololol :) Which one would Winnie Say?

But anyways, what I really did was recycle some old cargo pants into a bracelet, and other thingies as well, I would post that later.

Anime Obscureness: Saiyuki

Guess that I found on the "Show" list on YouTube?
(Squeals! Top left clockwise: Sanzo: the serious priest , Hakkai: the motherly figure, Gojyo: the smoker, and ladies man, Goku: the happy, hungry kid)

This is the first anime I ever watched knowing that it was an anime-japanimation--whatever you want to call it. And even though I'm trying not to draw anime things as often, Saiyuki is one of my BIGGEST sources of inspiration I had, just because the style was so different, at least for the more older male and female characters. (Notice how in other animes, you cant tell if someone is 16~37 years of age?)

Anyways- the show got a little more cornball to me: Redhead and Monkeyboy fight, demon comes, flashback, victory, off to the west. The show is 50 episodes long, but does it need that many? 30 would be enough, really. At least it's not Inuyasha long. (shudder)

Still awesome.

And the comic relief, although it feels like there may be too much, is nice. The anime is not intended to be too serious- sometimes characters pick on each other for the way they are drawn, like Gojyo and his wierd antenna hairs. And for some reason, when the show does go down a very serious path, you cannot help but miss the show's little corny jokes.

Also, if you are a girl, there is quite a bit of eye candy, and potental yaoi moments. oolala.

Oh, and female characters are okay and fun too like the merciful goddess (too lazy to find a pic of her)...wait, damn, she don't count as a girl really--she's a hemanphrodite. Oh well, anyways, all FEMINIME characters have huge boobs. Why? I dernos. I don't seem to get it. Probably to draw more attention to them. I mean, all the guys are soo pretty.

I dont know why

I think I've fostered a sense of dislike toward urbanoutfitters. I feel like they're trying to be so chic and indie but they are soooo commercializing it (with prices which seem kinda reasonable but can be ya know, a few bucks cheaper) at the same time ARGH.

Well actually, it's becuase they had these HOT headphones but they were to expensive for me to get.

Anyways, my skullcandy-Jamaica-colored buds broke. I've actually went to Newbury Comics to see if I could get another pair and decided against it. I also told a fellow shopper to don't get the brand when he started lookin at them. I think I did the right thing.

Other things to note:

Is it me or has converse shoes have gotten more expensive and more abundant than before. My friend got me a pair for 25 bucks, I see them for 40 now.

One of my friends told me how she got Uggs before they got popular and they were $60 when she got them.

I should stop buying stuff just becuase it's cheaper in a smaller size, I look bloated all the time now lol.

Made a list of bands to check out : Kenne, Kill Hannah, South, Danger Radio.

Yellow is hot, mustard yellow, nah. I see mustard yellow shoes and they just look like dirty yellow shoes to me. Sorry!

Speaking of clothes: http://lookbook.nu/

Still failing chemistry. Woot!

To The MBTA-

(reposted form a Facebook Note)

Almost every other day, I go to class by taking the Red Line from Quincy Adams to Park Street and then taking the Green B line to BU East.

Well last week, I had to miss my 9 AM Spanish Class (twice) becuase a B train did not arrive on the time it usually would at Park Street, only about 5 minutes later than it should have. If I took this train at its regular time, I would be at class 5 minutes early, so it shouldn't be a big deal if the train was five minutes late. But, you see, during those 5 minutes, a good number of other trains from other lines drive up to Park Street, thus causing heavy traffic on the railway.

So, in order to deal with this, I decided to go to bed earlier, get up a little earlier, and take a earlier train to Park Street. So I'm waiting at Park Street and there's no train. Peculiar. Luckily I made it to my Spanish Class only about 10 minutes late, becuase I ran there from Kenmore Station. While I was carrying my guitar. Too bad I had an exam. Oops!

"Oh, c'mon, this never happened before, having a late train 3 times in a week, maybe they'll shape up." Yeah, that's what I thought until today.

So I took an earlier train to Park Street just to make sure, again, that I won't be late for Spanish. There was a train waiting for me this time! But I couldn't get on, becuase a flurry of the people getting out of the Red Line with me pushed, and shoved, and filled the train. It really sucks, becuase you know more than half of these people in that stuffed train are going to be gone by the time that train reaches Copley Station.

Crap, so I am stuck at Park Street waiting for the B train. Well, I have about 25 minutes 'til class, I'm sure to be there early. Maybe my regular train won't screw me again, like it had three times previously. And even if it doesn't come I am not going to run to Spanish Class again.

Of course it doesn't come for the next 20 minutes. I watch the other trains go by. C, D, D, E, C, C, D, E.

And every time me and my fellow B-line commuters see the trains go by, we shake our heads and mutter to ourselves. I almost punched the wall after I saw that last E train pass by, taunting us with its empty seats. Our train finally comes, as well as the commuters fresh out of the Red Line. We pack ourselves into the car, and arrive to class, or work much later than usual.

So not only you guys have only one B train pass Park Street about every twenty minutes, while every other line comes by at least two times, you like to have that train come when people are getting out of the Red line at the same time. And of course the B train is closer to these guys, and so they just shove their rude selves, right in.

...

Well at least you guys knew you fucked up. After realizing that you didn't send a B train for a while, you send another one directly behind the one we were already on. And then you tell us we have to get off at Kenmore becuase the train was running express. Oh we shouldn't fret, becuase another train was right behind us. You guys are smart, you realize that most of us are already late, you can't piss us off any more.
